Ideas for your classroom
Math (inclues STEAM lessons)- Kahn Academy will be mentioned in every Blended Learning course you could take. It is considered the gateway website to BL. Create your free account and add your students for individualized learning, and data feedback to inform your instruction.
Visuwords allows a student to interact with a map of any word he looks up. Paths show the relationship to other words and are color coded to differentiate nouns, verbs, etc.
Science - Zooniverse - An opportunity for your students to help solve real world problems. "Provides opportunities for people around the world to contribute to real discoveries in fields ranging from astronomy to zoology [on] the largest online platform for collaborative volunteer research."
NASA - government site. Includes streaming feed to NASA TV and lots of video to watch, searchable education resources for teachers.
Google Docs are great for teaching students to find information and cite sources. Open a Google Doc, share it with your students. Have them look for information on the Internet on an interesting topic. Let them post to the shared Doc, but they must cite their source or their posts are deleted. Great for teaching that, "Google is not a source!" (Honeycutt)
Read, Write, Speak - Student Book Reviews- Have students review the books in your class library. Students create an audiotape of his/her review using Vocaroo. Upload the link to a QR creator QR Stuff, print and paste the QR code in the front of the book.
The QR Code Extension is a free app. Add it to your chromebooks, and the rest of the class can use it to scan the QR codes and listen to the reviews. Mind Blown!! Jigsaw Classroom - This is a method of teaching students by dividing them into groups and having each student responsible for learning a segment of the topic that they will then teach to the rest of their group.

Ten of the Best Virtual Field Trips (eSchool News) -Teachers are creating their own virtual field trips by using pictures, at least one video interview with an expert, and a Field Guide that includes step-by-step directions and an assessment for students to access materials on their own. Share with your class in Google Classroom. There are plenty of online examples and you can use a ready made field trip like those listed at eSchoolNews, or Discovery Education's Virtual Field Trip Series.
ePals - Collaborate on projects with other teachers and their students in this free, safe learning environment.
Google Hangouts - another way to collaborate between classrooms, or conduct class interviews with specialists, or invite an author to talk to your class. Google Hangouts Guide for teachers.
Lulu Jr - Students need more than just one person to read their work. This site lets you upload a book, and then buy it in paperback form. Published authors!
Ozobots - Some Warwick schools have Ozobots to help teach coding and LMS can borrow a set from the central office.
Choice Boards - Give students choice in how they show their understanding/learning. Organize like a Tic Tac Toe board and students pick 3 in a row. Visit Caitlin Tucker's website to get an idea of how to do this for your classes.
Flipgrid- A video tool for students to show what they have learned and promote discussion between students. Free sign up. Teacher moderation tools.

Google Classroom - Can be used to deliver content to students. Ability to; post assignments, survey students, share websites, accept homework and documents, give grades, allow student interaction.
Google Sites - Another tool that can be accessed through our school Google account. Google Sites is used to create websites. I have to be honest, for me Weebly is much easier to use.
